This drug, Alpelisib, is made to help fight breast cancer in women with certain genetic changes called PIK3CA mutations. It targets the PI3K part of the body’s cells. It zero in on this part of how the cells send messages inside the body.
You can get it in different strengths — 50 mg, 200 mg, and the strongest at 300 mg. They all come in these coated tablets that make it easier to swallow. The usual advice for adults is 300 mg a day, ideally with some food in your tummy.
You’ll find each pack holds 28 of these pills, sealed in something like a bubble package. You’ve got to take Alpelisib with a doc’s okay.
