Erdafitinib is a pill made just for treating bladder cancer that’s spread. It’s a special kind of cancer. The pill works by blocking something called FGFR 2 and 3.
These are enzymes that make cancer worse. It’s part of a group of drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors. They’re often used for cancer that’s caused by certain gene changes.
You can get Erdafitinib in three doses—3mg, 4mg, or 5mg. All of them come in these easy-to-swallow film-coated tablets. Most people start with an 8mg dose, taken once every day.
If you handle it okay, your doc might increase it to 9mg. The medicine comes in bottles with 56 pills in each one.
