So, Gilteritinib is a FLT3 inhibitor, and it’s used for treating acute myeloid leukemia, especially when it comes back or doesn’t respond to treatment and has FLT3 mutations. How it works is, it stops FLT3 kinase from doing its thing, which in turn slows down the growth of leukemia cells. You get this in 40 mg tablets.
The usual dose is 120 mg, taken just once every day, and it’s taken by mouth. These come in bottles that hold 90 of those tablets. You’re supposed to take these pills on an empty stomach, either an hour before or two hours after eating.
