Momelotinib is a pill used to treat myelofibrosis that causes anemia. You can get it in two strengths: 100 mg or 200 mg. Grown-ups usually take 200 mg each day.
Each bottle has 30 of these little tablets in it. This med does its job by making your spleen smaller and decreasing swelling—a big part of dealing with myelofibrosis. How it does its job is by stopping some enzymes (JAK1 and JAK2) that cause inflammation and fibrosis in the first place.
Just make sure to follow your doctor’s orders when taking this med. Be aware; it might cause a few issues like low red blood cells, blood platelet counts, white blood cells, and more. Keep track of those side effects and stay in touch with your doc for regular check-ins.
