Capivasertib’s a type of medicine that blocks AKT. It’s used to treat breast cancer patients with certain changes in their PIK3CA, AKT1, or PTEN genes. These patients usually have HR /HER2 breast cancer.
It works by stopping the AKT signal from getting through. The drug comes in two doses: there’s a 200 mg tablet and a 400 mg one. You’re supposed to take the 400 mg tablet two times a day.
But you’ll only do this for 4 days, then you’ll take 3 days off, and that’s the cycle. One pack has 64 tablets in it.
