Tofacitinib is a pill. It’s used to treat RA, psoriatic arthritis, and something called ulcerative colitis. It’s a JAK inhibitor – kind of like a superhero for your immune system, I guess.
You can get it in 5 mg or 10 mg doses. So, adults should take 5 mg twice a day, with at least 12 hours between doses. There’s enough in a bottle for about a month if you’re on the 5 mg dose.
You can take it with or without food, it’s up to you. Just stick with the doc’s plan and don’t take more than you’re supposed to. There might be some side effects like colds, a sore throat, headaches, and your blood pressure might go up.
Keep an eye out for anything unusual, and let the doc know if anything changes.
