Gilteritinib is an FLT3 inhibitor. It’s used to treat relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia that has FLT3 mutations. It works by stopping FLT3 kinase.
This, in turn, slows down leukemia cell growth. The tablets have a film coating and they’re 40 mg strong. Doctors usually recommend adults take 120 mg of it once a day.
You’ll find these tablets in bottles with 90 in each. The main stuff in the pill is gilteritinib. It’s designed to zero in on and block FLT3, which is this kinase thingy involved in how leukemia cells send signals.
It’s all about stopping those leukemia cells from growing. You’ve got to swallow these tablets whole. No breaking or chewing, okay? You can take these tablets with or without food.
Just make sure you do it the same way every time to keep side effects to a minimum.
