Asciminib is a kind of BCR-ABL inhibitor. It’s mostly used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) that doesn’t respond to other treatments. It works by going after something called the ABL myristoyl pocket.
You can take it in 20 mg or 40 mg pills. The usual dose is either 80 mg a day or 40 mg twice a day. The medicine comes in bottles with 60 tablets in each.
They suggest taking it once a day since it might work better that way, and don’t forget, it’s best taken with food. Some people might have side effects, so you should tell your healthcare provider about it. Every patient is different, so their treatment needs to be tailored to how their body reacts and the condition it’s treating.
