Alectinib is a type of ALK inhibitor. It’s used to treat a specific kind of lung cancer called ALK-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. It works by blocking those pathways that are linked to ALK.
You can get it as capsules, each one has 150 mg inside. The usual dose is 600 mg, taken two times a day, and it’s best to take it with food. These capsules come in bottles with 240 of them.
The main stuff in Alectinib is what stops ALK and another thing called ROS1. It might make tumors smaller and help patients do better. You’re supposed to swallow the capsules whole, not break them open or chew them.
You should take 600 mg twice a day, but make sure to do it at least an hour before or two hours after you eat. Keep an eye out for any bad stuff that might happen while you’re on Alectinib. Keep the capsules at room temp, away from light and moisture.
