Ceritinib is a prescription drug, mainly used to treat a type of lung cancer called ALK-positive NSCLC. It’s part of a group of drugs known as ALK inhibitors. These inhibitors target something called the ALK signaling pathway.
It comes in capsules, and each one is 150 mg. You’re usually advised to take 450 mg a day, with your meal. The medicine comes in bottles with 70 capsules inside.
Ceritinib stops the ALK protein, which makes cancer cells grow and spread in people with that ALK-positive NSCLC thing. You need to swallow the capsules whole, no chomping or popping them open. Possible side effects might be tummy troubles, skin reactions, and issues with the bone marrow.
It’s usually given with lots of doctor oversight.
