Alectinib is an anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) inhibitor, primarily used for the treatment of ALK-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It stops cancer cells from growing by interfering with something called the ALK signaling pathway. The drug comes in 150 mg capsule form and the recommended dosage is 600 mg taken twice daily, preferably with food to enhance absorption.
Each dose is two capsules. You can get the drug in bottles, each holding 240 capsules. Alectinib helps lung cancer patients who don’t respond to chemo or can’t have it because it can help them live longer without the cancer getting worse.
And it can also help if the cancer comes back after treatment.
