Ivosidenib is an oral med used to treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that comes back or doesn’t respond to other treatments, especially in people with a certain kind of IDH1 mutation. It works by keeping that faulty IDH1 protein in check. This protein is what makes too much of these things called oncometabolites, like 2-HG.
By doing this, it messes up how the cancer cells get energy and slows them down from multiplying. You can get Ivosidenib in 250 mg pills that have a special coating. They usually tell adults to take 500 mg of this stuff once every day.
Each bottle’s got about 60 of these tablets.
