Avatrombopag is used to boost platelet production in people with chronic liver issues or ITP. The drug gets the TPO receptor going, which helps make more platelets. It’s in tablet form, with each one having 20 milligrams of the main stuff.
You usually take 20 milligrams a day, and it’s best to have it with food. Each pack has 30 tablets. It’s meant just for adults, like the studies showed it’s safe for them, especially those 18 to 65 with ITP.
It’s not for people on immune suppressants. Avatrombopag might make blood-thinning drugs more likely to cause bleeding.
