This inhibitor is used to treat lung cancer, more specifically a type called NSCLC. It helps patients who have changes in certain parts of their EGFR gene, like deletions in the 19th exon or the L858R mutation in the 21st exon. It works by stopping the EGFR gene’s messages, which are like instructions that tell cancer to grow.
You can find it in different strengths like 20, 30, or 40 milligrams. They usually suggest a 40 milligram dose, taken one time each day and on an empty tummy. Each bottle holds 30 of those tablets.
