Gefitinib is a type of kinase inhibitor that goes after specific mutations in the EGFR. It’s mostly used for treating NSCLC, especially when the cancer has these two specific DNA changes. Gefitinib does its thing by blocking the EGFR signaling, which in turn slows down cancer cell growth.
Available in film-coated tablets, each containing 250 mg of the active ingredient, the recommended dosage for patients is 250 mg once daily. You can take this dose with or without eating. Gefitinib comes in bottles with 30 tablets in each one.
