Asciminib is a special kind of medicine that helps treat CML when other treatments don’t work anymore. It goes after this thing called the ABL myristoyl pocket, which is a protein that makes CML cells grow too much. Asciminib comes in two strengths: 20 mg or 40 mg film-coated tablets, with the recommended dose being 80 mg per day, which can be taken as a single 80 mg dose or two 40 mg doses divided throughout the day.
It comes in bottles with 60 pills in each one. This drug works by cutting down on the BCR-ABL kinase stuff, which helps stop CML from getting worse. The 20 mg and 40 mg versions are for different patients depending on their weight and how bad their CML is.
And to make sure the medicine is doing its job and to look out for any bad side effects, patients might have to get their blood checked regularly.
