Gefitinib is a type of cancer drug that’s used for non-small cell lung cancer. It helps if you have certain mutations like EGFR 19 deletions or L858R. It works by stopping a certain signal (EGFR signaling) from doing its thing.
You get it in tablets that are coated. Each one is 250 mg. The dose is 250 mg, taken once a day.
You can take it with or without a meal. The tablets come in bottles of 30. The main stuff in Gefitinib, which is a targeted therapy, blocks a protein’s action.
This protein is part of how cancer cells grow and spread. Side effects of Gefitinib may include but are not limited to skin rash, diarrhea, and cough. Just do what your doc says and tell them if you feel anything new or not so great.
