Futibatinib is a type of inhibitor that targets the FGFR, which is used to treat cholangiocarcinoma that has FGFR2 fusions. It’s designed to stop those FGFR signaling pathways. These tablets are 4 mg each, and you’re supposed to take 20 mg a day.
You’ll find these tablets in bottles, with 28 of them in each. The main stuff in the pill goes after cancer cells by cutting off those pathways that get all wonky in cholangiocarcinoma due to FGFR2 fusions. This targeted stuff is supposed to help shrink the tumor and maybe make things better for the patient.
Patients really need to stick to the doctor’s orders with this one, because how well it works depends on taking it right every day.
