Momelotinib is a kinase inhibitor, and it’s specially made to treat myelofibrosis with anemia. It’s a JAK1/2 inhibitor. It works by cutting down on immune cells overproducing and inflammation that mess with myelofibrosis.
The drug helps shrink the spleen, boost blood counts, and ease the symptoms of the disease. There are two kinds of doses: 100 mg and 200 mg, both in film-coated tablet form. The advice is to take 200 mg of it once a day, and you can do it with or without eating.
You’re supposed to take the tablets whole, not chew them. You’ll get this stuff in bottles with 30 tablets in each, for taking by mouth. You might feel tired, have diarrhea, muscle aches, tummy pain, and other stuff from taking momelotinib.
If you’ve got bad liver issues or are allergic to this stuff or any of its bits, you shouldn’t use it.
