Ponatinib is a BCR-ABL inhibitor. It’s used for certain types of leukemia, like CML and Ph ALL, that don’t respond to previous treatments like tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). It works by blocking a bunch of different kinases.
You can get it as either a 15 mg or a 45 mg tablet coated with film. The usual dose is 45 mg every day, and it doesn’t matter if you take it with food or not. The drug comes in bottles, each holding 30 of those tablets.
