Regorafenib is a type of medicine that helps treat advanced colon cancer, GIST, and liver cancer, which is sometimes called HCC. It focuses on these specific pathways: VEGFR, TIE2, and a few others. You can get the tablets in 40 mg doses, which are coated.
The doc usually suggests taking 160 mg, which is the same as four tablets, every day. You follow this routine for about three weeks out of every four weeks. Each box has enough pills for those three-week stints—84 tablets, in total.
You can take these tablets with or without meals. Having a drink of water can make it easier to swallow them. Make sure you stick to the schedule—21 days of taking the tablets, followed by a seven-day break.
Side effects can include high blood pressure, red and peeling skin on your hands and feet, and feeling tired, among others. It’s important to keep an eye on how you’re doing and follow up with your doc regularly to make sure everything’s working out okay.
