Selumetinib is used to treat neurofibromatosis type 1, especially when there are these tricky plexiform neurofibromas. It goes after that MEK signaling stuff, which is big in how neurofibromas form. You can get it in two strengths—10 mg and 25 mg.
The recommended dose for adults is 25 mg administered twice daily, with each dose taken on an empty stomach to ensure optimal absorption. They come in bottles with 60 capsules in each one. Just make sure you stick to the dose your doc tells you and don’t go overboard to sidestep any possible bad stuff.
