Upadacitinib is an oral medication classified as a Janus kinase (JAK) 1 inhibitor, which is primarily used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and atopic dermatitis. The way it works is by messing with the immune system to cut down on inflammation and help with those symptoms. The med comes in two sizes—15 mg and a 30 mg extended-release kind.
Most adults take 15 mg of this stuff once a day. Each bottle has 30 tabs to cover a month’s worth of the usual dose. The 30 mg tabs are usually used for folks with really bad cases or those who don’t get better with the smaller dose.
