Sunitinib is a medication that acts as a multi-kinase inhibitor, primarily used for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (RCC), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NET). It focuses on a bunch of kinases—like VEGFR and PDGFR—to stop tumors from growing. You can get it in three strengths: 12.5 mg, 25 mg, and 50 mg in capsule form.
The usual dose is 50 mg once a day. You do that for 4 weeks then take a 2-week break before doing it again. Each pack comes with a bottle of 28 capsules, easy peasy.
This stuff has shown it can actually shrink tumors, ease pain, and just generally improve life for patients.
