Ceritinib is an ALK inhibitor. It’s used mainly for treating ALK-positive advanced non-small cell lung cancer. So it works by zeroing in on that ALK signal in lung cancer cells.
This helps to slow or even halt the growth of tumors. Ceritinib comes in 150 mg capsules. You take it as a 450 mg dose every day, either on an empty stomach before bedtime or with something light.
There can be some side effects like headaches, nausea, rashes, and diarrhea. You should keep taking it every day as your doctor prescribes, unless your doc says to stop it for some reason. It comes in bottles with 70 capsules each.
