Belumosudil is used to treat a condition called chronic graft-versus-host disease. It’s part of a group called ROCK2 inhibitors, and they’re meant to cut down on swelling and toughening of tissues. The dose you’re supposed to take is 200 milligrams, and you need to take it once a day with something to eat.
You can get this in tablet form, each one’s 200 mg, and they’ve got a special coating on them. Each bottle holds 30 of those tablets. It mainly works by blocking something called ROCK2, which is a protein involved in how cells send signals.
It’s especially active in fibroblasts and those muscle cells that line blood vessels. By doing this, it makes cells less active, which in turn helps cut down on inflammation and scarring that come with chronic graft-versus-host disease. It’s really important that you stick to what your doctor says about how much you should take and how long you should take it.
