Binimetinib is an MEK inhibitor. It works especially well for BRAF V600E/K melanoma when taken with encorafenib. It works by blocking the MEK pathway.
It’s a 15 mg tablet, and you take 45 mg twice daily, like the doctor says. You can find this medication in bottles with 84 tablets in them. The drug is designed to be administered in combination with another treatment called encorafenib and is intended for the treatment of specific types of melanoma characterized by the presence of a mutation in the BRAF protein at the V600E or V600K amino acid positions.
This is a two-pronged attack to help beat the melanoma, hitting on two big pathways. Your doc has to give you this prescription, and you better keep an eye on ’em.
