Dacomitinib is a type of EGFR inhibitor used to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in people who have specific mutations in the EGFR gene, like exon 19 deletion or the L858R mutation. It works by stopping EGFR signaling. You’ve got three strengths to choose from: 15 mg, 30 mg, and 45 mg.
The one they usually recommend is 45 mg, taken just once every day. Each bottle’s got 30 tablets, wrapped in a film coating. Dacomitinib stops a protein called EGFR from doing its thing.
This protein is super important for making cancer cells grow and live, especially in NSCLC cells with those specific mutations.
