This stuff, called momelotinib, is really important for treating a blood disorder called myelofibrosis, especially when you have anemia along with it. It’s a special type of medicine known as a JAK1 and JAK2 inhibitor. So how it works? It stops certain enzymes called JAK1 and JAK2 from doing their thing.
And those enzymes are kind of like troublemakers when it comes to inflammation. And the cool part is, it makes the spleen smaller and less inflamed, which is a big deal for people with myelofibrosis. You’re supposed to take it once every day, and they usually suggest 200 mg for the best results.
You got two choices in these tablets: 100 mg or 200 mg. But the 200 mg one is the one they like to use most. They come in tablet form, all smooth and coated, and each bottle usually has 30 tabs.
It’s fine if you take it with or without food, just don’t chew it or break it up.
