Ivosidenib is an IDH1 inhibitor. It’s used to treat AML that comes back or doesn’t respond to treatment, especially when the cancer has IDH1 mutations. The goal is to slow down or stop cancer cells from growing by blocking the IDH1 enzyme that’s gone wrong.
You can get this as 250 mg tablets. The usual amount to take is 500 mg each day, and it’s taken by mouth. Each package comes with a bottle of 60 of these tablets.
This med is made to deal with specific gene changes in people with AML. It helps treatment work better while trying to keep the side effects down that come with stopping other enzymes.
