Mitotane is a drug that’s used to treat adrenocortical carcinoma, which is a type of adrenal cancer. It works by really knocking back the adrenal glands. You can get it in 500 mg tablet form.
For adults, the starting dose is usually 2 to 6 grams a day, split up throughout the day and adjusted as you go. The tablets come in bottles with 100 tabs in each. Take it with food and lots of water, and you’ll need to be checked often for any side effects.
It’s a controlled drug, which means it can be abused and is addictive. Make sure you follow the doctor’s orders and don’t take more than you’re supposed to, so you don’t have bad reactions. Keep it stored in a cool, dry spot, away from the sun and heat.
