Alpelisib is an inhibitor for a thing called PI3K. It’s used to treat a type of breast cancer that’s estrogen receptor positive and HER2 negative. It zeroes in on changes in the PIK3CA gene, which messes with the PI3K signaling.
This is a big deal. Alpelisib tablets come in three strengths: 50mg, 200mg, and 300mg. Doctors usually suggest taking 300mg a day, with food, for adults.
Each blister pack holds 28 tablets. You need a prescription and a doc’s oversight to take it.
