Vemurafenib is a special kind of drug made just for people with a rare kind of skin cancer called BRAF V600E-mutant melanoma. It’s part of a group called BRAF inhibitors. That means it mainly stops the BRAF signaling, which helps keep cancer cells from growing.
The medicine is in tablet form with a strength of 240 mg each. You’re supposed to take 960 mg, split up over two doses a day. It doesn’t matter if you take it with or without food, either.
You’ll find it in bottles that have 112 tablets inside. They didn’t say how much it costs, but it’s priced like other drugs with similar benefits.
