Ritlecitinib blocks JAK3/TEC enzymes. It’s used to treat alopecia areata and other autoimmune issues by helping to calm down the immune system and ease symptoms. It’s in 50 mg capsule form, and you’re supposed to take one capsule a day.
You get 30 capsules in each box. The drug goes after the JAK3/TEC pathways that deal with how immune cells communicate and cause inflammation. Alopecia areata is when you lose patches of hair on your scalp and other places, usually because of your immune system going haywire.
Autoimmune diseases happen when your immune system attacks your own body, like it’s trying to fight off a cold but going after your own cells instead. The drug works by stopping the body from making stuff that causes inflammation. It doesn’t cure alopecia areata, but it helps keep the disease under control.
You’re usually supposed to follow a treatment plan, and it’s best to do it with a doctor’s help.
