Tenofovir Alafenamide, an NRTI, is used for treating chronic Hepatitis B and HIV. It attacks reverse transcriptase, a key enzyme the virus needs to copy itself. You take the drug in 25 mg tablets, taken once a day with food.
Each bottle comes with 30 of these tablets. You’ve got to take this stuff regularly to keep your virus under control and avoid building up a resistance. You can’t just take this instead of your ART or use it all by itself.
Common side effects might be things like nausea, diarrhea, a headache, or even dizziness. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment and is not recommended during pregnancy without careful consideration and professional advice.
