Ribociclib blocks two important cell cycle regulators, CDK4 and CDK6. It’s a go-to treatment for hormone-sensitive and HER2-negative breast cancer. Its job is to stop cells from dividing too fast.
You take these as 200 mg pills, one pill a day for three weeks out of every four weeks. The pills come in a pack with 63 tablets. The key part in the pill stops these two proteins that help control cell division from doing their job too well.
This slows down or stops cancer cells from multiplying. It’s a big part of treating breast cancer with hormone therapy and it usually works best when it’s paired with other drugs.
