Regorafenib is a multi-kinase inhibitor. It’s used to treat metastatic colorectal cancer, GIST, and HCC. It stops the growth of new blood vessels and cancer cells from dividing and spreading.
It does this by targeting VEGFR, Tie2, and other kinase receptors. These tablets come in 40 mg doses. You take 160 mg once a day for the first 21 days of every 28-day cycle.
Each bottle has 84 tablets. Regorafenib should be taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before or two hours after a meal and it is important that each tablet is taken without splitting, chewing, or breaking. There’s a 21-day treatment phase followed by a 7-day break.
Stay away from grapefruit and grapefruit juice because they can interact with the drug. Common side effects are things like nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, feeling tired, mouth sores, hand-foot syndrome, and higher levels of alanine or aspartate aminotransferase.
