Anagrelide is used to lower platelet levels in people with essential thrombocythemia. It’s part of a group of drugs known as platelet reducers. They work by stopping the growth of megakaryocytes, which are the cells that make platelets.
Each capsule has 0.5 mg of the main stuff that makes it work. Doctors usually tell adults to take 0.5 mg of the pill every 6 hours, which means you take it four times a day. They might change this dose if they think you need it.
You’ll find these pills in bottles with 100 capsules, each with 0.5 mg of the medicine.
