Crizotinib is a little pill that helps treat a type of lung cancer called NSCLC, especially when the cancer has certain markers like ALK, ROS1, or MET. It goes after those proteins and stops cancer cells from growing. You can get this med in two strengths: a 200 mg and a 250 mg pill.
You’re usually supposed to take the 250 mg pill two times a day, and it doesn’t matter if you take it with or without food. It comes in a bottle with 60 caps. This is a targeted therapy, so it’s supposed to mostly just hit the cancer cells and not hurt the good ones.
Some side effects you might notice are things like seeing things funny, your liver enzymes going up, or feeling queasy. You need a prescription for this stuff, and you’ll be taking it with a doctor’s help.
