Erlotinib is this special medicine that blocks a thing called EGFR, which is linked to cancer growth. It’s used for NSCLC and pancreatic cancer, especially in people who have this EGFR stuff in their cancer. So, it works by stopping EGFR from telling cancer cells to keep multiplying and living longer.
You’re supposed to take 150 mg of it every day, preferably on an empty stomach. They sell it in three strengths: 25, 100, or 150 mg. It comes in bottles with 30 coated tablets in each.
It’s meant to be used for a really long time for NSCLC, and sometimes it’s the very first thing they try. There might be some side effects like a rash, belly problems, or feeling queasy, along with a cough and stuff. The tablets are for taking by mouth.
Don’t chew them up or break them open.
