Dacomitinib is a special inhibitor, made just for treating Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. It goes after and stops something called the EGFR signaling pathway, and this is really important because it helps these lung cancer cells with certain mutations keep growing and living. It zeroes in on two specific changes: one is called an exon 19 deletion, and the other is the L858R mutation in the 21st exon of the EGFR gene.
You can get Dacomitinib in tablets, coming in strengths of 15 mg, 30 mg, and 45 mg. For adults, the advice is to take 45 mg of the stuff once a day. The tablets come in bottles, each holding 30 of them.
