Elacestrant is a special type of drug called a SERD. It’s used to treat breast cancer that’s been acting up even after hormone therapy, or in cases where the cancer is stubborn and keeps coming back or getting worse after chemo with drugs like anthracyclines or taxanes. Elacestrant tablets come in two sizes: 86 mg and 345 mg.
The usual amount to take is 345 mg. You should take it every day, ideally with something to eat. You get these tablets in a bottle with 30 of them.
It’s really important to take it every day and not skip any doses. Also, you’ll need to stick to a schedule for taking it with your other hormone treatments.
