Resmetirom is an oral THR-β stimulator. It’s used to treat something called NASH. It’s meant to help with how liver fat breaks down.
Resmetirom comes in 80 mg tablets. You’re usually supposed to take one 80 mg tablet every day. Each bottle holds 30 tablets.
You need to take it by mouth and make sure to eat while you do. Resmetirom is what does the work; it’s the main stuff that’s supposed to make liver fat go down. NASH is when your liver packs on fat and can come with stuff like swelling and scarring.
They looked at using Resmetirom for NASH to cut back on the fat and help liver health. Clinical trials have shown that it really works and is pretty safe for NASH patients. Since it’s a generic, it’s like the non-brand version, which might also cost less.
